David Mason + Associates has provided high quality Land Survey services since 1989. Our Survey experience includes the Topographic Surveys, Construction Layout Surveys, Hydraulic/Flood Study Surveys, and more! DMA has been the preferred Land Surveyor of a wide variety of project and survey types from St. Louis to Chicago.
DMA is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Land Survey Crew Chief to lead our Field Crews. In this position, you will work closely with Professional Land Surveyors, Field and Staff Technicians and other engineering professionals to lead the collection of accurate field data for a variety of survey types around the St. Louis metropolitan area. Our ideal candidate holds a High School diploma and has 5+ years of Land Surveying experience.

Essential Duties:
Supervise field crew to ensure safety and efficiency of work completed
Understands scope of survey work and executes field procedures to complete field tasks
Efficiently operates survey instruments, including electronic total station, digital level, GPS equipment, robotics, 3D laser scanner, and data collectors
Reads and interprets deeds, plats, plans and specifications
Operates and maintains a variety of survey equipment in safe and efficient manner
Sets priorities and meets deadlines of each project and/or job
Identifies and implements effective courses of action to complete work assignments in a safe manner
Maintains files of maps, documents and other records as needed
Takes descriptive and legible survey notes and drawings
Communicates field conditions to office personnel
Keeps mileage records
Supports and performs topographic, construction, boundary, and control surveys
Creates and files job hazard analysis forms
May provide support and guidance during new hire and ongoing training within Division
Follow and abide by the DMA employee and safety manuals
Completes required initial and ongoing training as requested by DMA
Wears DMA branded Safety-Shirts and appropriate PPE when working on-site in the field
Completes other duties as assigned
Requirements
Highschool Diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Associate degree or above in Land Surveying, or a related field of study is preferred
5+ years’ experience in similar roles is required
